Dear Bb.Network Members,

I want to communicate to you directly about a very serious problem we are facing - the increased presence of Bumble and bumble products in the mass market - and the actions we have taken, and will continue to take, to address this problem. Many of you have asked us pointedly whether we are selling to a number of large, well-known mass drug stores and chains. I assure you clearly, definitively and unequivocally that Bumble and bumble has no relationship with any of these mass outlets. We do not sell to them, and the Bb.Products they sell have been obtained in the "grey market" through unauthorized resales by legitimate Bb. customers. Once we become aware of it, any diversion by a Bb. customer is grounds for immediate termination of the relationship.

I also want to let you know that through our advanced coding system and other diagnostics, we have identified the single largest source of the diverted Bb. merchandise appearing in these well-known mass chains. We have severed our relationship with this partner and are pursuing highly aggressive legal action. This particular relationship started about a year and a half ago and involved, in addition to the core line, the one-time creation of a special 4 oz. size of select Bb.Products as part of a hotel amenities test project designed to increase awareness of Bb. among high-end travelers. They have not been produced again.

Protecting Bumble and bumble brand equity is our highest priority. We will continue to fight diversion at all costs and enforce a "zero-tolerance policy," along with appropriate legal action, against any partner that diverts our merchandise in violation of our Bb. Product Sales Agreement. In fact, in the past seven months, we have closed 37 salons at a cost to us of over $2 million due to evidence of diversion. Please also know that we have the full support of The Estée Lauder Companies in fighting diversion.

On behalf of all of us at Bumble and bumble, thank you for your support as we work diligently and forcefully to reduce diversion, an issue that plagues so many prestige brands.
